Monetary value of disability-adjusted life years lost from all causes in Mauritius in 2019

Background: The Republic of Mauritius had a total 422,567 disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) from all causes in 2019. This study aimed to estimate the monetary value DALYs lost 2019 and those projected to be 2030; savings 2030 if were attain national targets related five United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 on good health well-being. Methods: The human capital approach was used monetarily 157 each cause calculated product net gross domestic (GDP) per capita number specific cause. percentage reductions implied SDG3 project values expected 2030. potential equal less 2030. Results: Int$ 9.46 billion mean 22,389 DALY. Of this amount, 84.2% resulted non-communicable diseases; 8.7% communicable, maternal, neonatal, nutritional 7.1% injuries. Full attainment would avert losses 2.4 billion. Conclusions: Diseases injuries significant annual loss with substantive value. Fully achieving could save nearly 8% its GDP To achieve such savings, needs strengthen further system, other systems that tackle social determinants health, research system.
